I was told to have a theme or purpose to this blogging experience…
So here it goes.
I want to entertain people- make them laugh. I also hope to provide valuable advice (in my 18 years of experience, I am clearly the wisest resource).
So let’s see.. if you visit my blog, expect a laugh (if you appreciate good humor), solid life lessons, and ways to make yourself successful.. at the things I believe I am successful at.
Narrow range of readers.
Well kind of. I slept until noon… cleaned a little… and then watched a Netflix marathon of “The Office.”
At first I thought, “What am I doing with my life? This is a total waste of the day.” But then I remembered that my break is almost over, and soon I’ll be overwhelmed with the amount of work I have to do, and I got over my slump quickly and went back to sleep.
Speaking of overwhelming tasks, this is what I’m taking on in just a few days:
It doesn’t seem like much, but I’ll be stressed out.
This being the case, I’ve spent the last hour and will continue pinning and tumbling cute/inspirational/funny things. Ingenious plan.
Side note, my blue gradient chevron nails still look awesome.
To be honest, I forgot I even had a Tumblr. But here I am!
My English teacher suggested that keeping a blog that reflects one’s personality is a good way to make connections and network, especially in my field of PR. So I’ve decided as my New Year’s Resolution (among keeping a journal and drinking less soda) that I will use my Tumblr as a blog of my personality.
We’ll see how long this lasts.
Aside from my English Professor’s mentoring, I’ve had a burst of inspiration from one Mindy Kaling today. Kaling has been an idol of mine since I first witnessed her on one of my favorite shows, “The Office,” and today while searching for some bulk bargains for my dorm room at BJ’s (the Cosco of Jacksonville) I stumbled upon her book Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? I’ve only started reading it in the last seven minutes, but I’m already in love with the small paperback. I want to be like Mindy. I want to be like Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
My rambling leads me to the following conclusions.
Bottom line, I like to entertain and work with people. I plan to make that happen.
Let this blog be my start.
Here we go!
